Our Responsible Design

Prints is our Identity

At Samprada, we extensively work with handblock prints from two regions of the country, Bagu in Rajasthan and Ajrakpur in Gujarat. We select our own blocks putting much thought into the combinations, design, colour scheme and fabrics for the prints.

All the fabric used at Samprada are especially made to order for our unique styling and identity. They have their own stories which is what makes us unique. Our inspiration comes from the colour vibrancy of our culture which is beautifully reflected in the use of traditional hand block designs inspired by the inlay work found in the havelis of Rajasthan and the unique colour palette distinct to the region.

The Ajrak patterns are more geometric and have islamic influences in it. They are always printed with natural dyes and it is an intricate printing technique which involves sixteen steps before the fabric is ready for use. The colour palette for Ajraks is distinct to the region of Gujarat, India.

Craftmark Certified

We are craftmark certified for Bagru handblock prints. The craftmark adds value to Indian handcrafted products while identifying the craft technique inherent in the product and certifying its authenticity. Craftmark has set standards for over eighty unique Indian handcrafted processes.

Limited Conscious Production

We keep our quantities small to keep the uniqueness of our collections alive. We work with a small group of fabrication partners who deliver quality products on time/ We pay fair wages and respect each one of them for their excellent karigari, or craftsmanship. Their invaluable skills add to our uniqueness.

Zero Waste

We use every scrap of fabric in our unit to create a beautiful product which has value. Our scrap fabrics are turned into bag charms,, upcycled to make saree blouses, dresses, and shrugs. In current times, we have started making face masks with filters, and the last bits of scraps are used to make rugs.

We follow the 3Rs principle

At Samprada, we are constantly exploring ways to reuse fabric scraps and their textures to create distinctive and quirky relief patterned dresses and jackets. We strive to create comfortable and timeless, classic styles.
